WHATSAPP FOR MACOS

Last year, we have published an article announcing WhatsApp beta for Windows: a rewritten app from scratch already compatible with multi-device. This was the best news for people that use Windows 10 and newer versions because it is a Universal Windows Platform app: even if a lot of features are still missing, this is a big project and the app is very stable. But there is more: we have also announced that WhatsApp was working on a macOS app and we can finally show an exclusive screenshot today!

As you can see in this screenshot, when you open WhatsApp for macOS for the first time, you need to link your phone by scanning the QR Code: you will be able to scan the QR code generated by WhatsApp for macOS right within WhatsApp Settings > Linked devices. We will also be able to link WhatsApp for Android to WhatsApp for macOS, so people do not need to switch to iOS if they are using WhatsApp on an Android device.
Since it will be possible to link an Android device to WhatsApp for macOS, we don’t exclude that WhatsApp will let people use WhatsApp on Android and iOS at the same time in the future.

We can also announce that the company has improved some details of the user interface of the app, so it will be easier to use WhatsApp on your Mac and it is a native app built with Mac Catalyst. Unfortunately, this app is under development so it is not possible to download it from the App Store on your Mac at the moment. A release date is unknown at the moment so we do not know when it will be released to the public. We will post more when further details are available, so be sure to frequently visit our website if you’re interested in the development of the macOS app!
